I THINK IT IS HORRIBLE HOW YOU ARE ADVERTISING THESE TICKETS AT $175 TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND IN LESS THAN AN HOUR YOU ARE RAISING THE PRICE. THIS IS NOT ALL AMERICAN.

I wholeheartedly agree their was nothing "All American ", about the way in which the sale of these tickets were Sold.

Ditto I was online paying tickets when the price changed to $250.00 I don,t think this is who Obama wants people to celebrate his victory by scalping tickets and hotel rooms etc.

Guys they are liars. I was on at 10:00 exactly and tickets were NEVER offered for 175.00 and 15 minutes later they just happend to have tickets for 250.00 I was on from 10:00 to 10:15 when they raised the prices. SCAMMERS INDEED, just awful, i am going to save my dime and go to an official ball.

This site is not raising the ticket prices - the ticket prices are being controlled by the association that organized the Ball (if you clicked the link in the notes above you are taken to their site). On that site, it explains how ticket prices are set - I've copied it below:

- A large block of tickets has been set aside/reserved for major contributors and party leaders.
- The remaining tickets are available for purchase on this web site only. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
Tickets are “all inclusive” - meaning that all drinks and food is included in the ticket price (see the “Menu” page for details.)
Ticket prices:
- The first block of tickets are $175 per person.
Subsequent blocks will be released at: $250 $300 $350 per person

(Please note that tickets are released for sale in blocks, with the earliest blocks having the biggest discounts. As each block fills up, a new block is released at a new, higher price. Ticket prices will go up as each new block is released - without notice. Therefore it is recommended that you purchase your ticket as early as possible.)

I was not able to get the $175 tickets, either - but do the research and READ before tossing blame around. Meanwhile, I think I will go to the Illinois Gala instead.

Tickets were indeed offered and sold at 175.00 per person. I know 2 couples that are going with us that got the 175.00. I got mine later at 200.00 per person.

THANK you khim - why people are so quick to call foul, I have no idea. I also know people who were able to get them at $175. Unfortunately, I was not able to.

You guys have to realize - there were probably MILLIONS across the US waiting to buy tickets at 10am just like us; not to mention some ACTUAL scalpers probably ordered a lot of tickets at once to resell. I am surprised that their site didn't crash with all the traffic. Like I said before - I am temptrd to do the Illinois Gala, but I think I will wait for the official balls to be announced and try for one of them.

I've just received new info in regards to the Presidential Inaugural Committee. They will be in charge of the OFFICIAL inaugural balls. Keep checking www.pic2009.org. They don't have much info yet since I believe they just established the committee, but keep checking back there for info on the official balls.
